This Christmas

It has been snooooooowing. It really is beautiful to look at from my window currently but later on when I go out it will be pretty gross. So Christmas was pretty awesome. I got some new clothes, seasons one and two of Alias, which I have been really wanting to watch lately. So that is going to be my life for some time. I also got a snuggie, deal with it. The biggest hit this year was my mom's joke gift. Each year my mom gets us a gift that is just kind of silly. This year was a pack of Speed Stacks cups. I was not too interested in them but they quickly became a game for others at our Christmas celebration. It was really hilarious to see people watching the instructional dvds and learn how to stack these cups. As the day progressed people got better and better and the competition got steeper and steeper. Watching a group of three people square off in a competition of speed stacking cups was quite comical and made for an interesting Christmas.
We also saw Its Complicated which was too funny. I have been waiting to see this movie for so long and I FINALLY got to see it! It was really great fun.
So how was everyone else's Christmas?

Go to sleep and dream of snow

I think that there was a time in my life when I did love snow. I loved being able to go outside and play in it. Riding a snowmobile with my Dad. Snow Days were also a favorite thing of mine. But these days I am in hate with snow. The cold, wet nonsense that invades my life for so many months out of the year which turns into gross mush or ice that trips me up whilst walking. Walking around in the cold for such a long time in Illinois is just a little much. Chicago winters are not getting warmer my friends. Last year when I was home for the holidays there were some days wherein it was too cold to snow. Who knew that was even possible? While living California I got spoiled most definitely. Sun and fun in February, come on thats not going to be happening in Illinois.
Even though currently listing snow as one of my enemies, there are some positives things that do accompany snow. I do love the holidays and am excited for them to come. I love holiday movies. 'White Christmas' was and is one of my favorite movies. Christmas music is so fabulous and I have always found it lovely and inspiring. And now as I watch the snow from my apartment window and it covers the house tops and trees I find it looking so lovely and I can't help feeling a little happy.

Written earlier when it was actually snowing outside

You Can't Take It With You

So I've been trying to write in this lately but don't have a lot to say. I was going to write a post about Thanksgiving. But now I feel as if that ship has sailed, as it is December. So what else is going on with me? Nothing. I haven't done anything too exciting. Erica and I had a fabulous dinner on Friday wherein we ate some delicious food. I have discovered Turner Classic Movies which is fun because there are so many great classic movies and I never get the references like when someone refers to a woman as "His Girl Friday." Mainly this will help when I am watching Gilmore Girls with their witty banter and pop culture references. But other than that. NOTHING IS NEW. And I am kind of over that fact. December is here and the next thing we know 2010 will be here. Oh wow. I really don't know what to say about that.
